Thanks for your comment. When I first tried them, I was overwhelmed by the complex corn flavor that sung through. It was so true to what I was eating, in a way that other (supermarket) grits I'd eaten were not. We'd love to have you by for a taste sometime.

My husband and I just moved from South Carolina so it was very refreshing to read your excerpt about grits. Thank you for addressing the unfortunate truths that attribute to the negative misconception that many have about this food (regarding the bland taste), and for the lengths you go through to make sure you are truly representing the uniqueness of its simple flavor!

Enjoyed your ode to grits, real GRITS. Am getting to be kind of an old codger but can still taste the grits we grew and took to the grist mill. Have my own burr mill and have planted several varieties of corn; much better than Dixie Lilly or Jim Dandy but they all fall short of what I remember.I Know of Anson mills but can't afford fifty cents an ounce and want to grow my own anyway but they, of course, are not in the seed selling business. Have tried all the seed catalogs I can think of without luck.

Any way you could talk Mr. Roberts into sending me a single handful of his gourdseed and another of his John Haulk seed for my own garden use? I be glad to pay his price and would be eternally grateful to you both. Thank you kindly, John Poore
