I would be crazily remiss to talk about life in Ann Arbor without mentioning Zingerman’s Deli. These folks opened in 1982–yep, that is 30 years ago, meaning not that far off from the time period when Perrier was considered to be a human being (as I previously mentioned) and if you asked for a “knish” you might very well have been responded to with a “Gesundheit.”

On Saturday, March 10, director (and Ann Arbor native) Graham Meriwether brings his film “American Meat” to town for its Michigan debut. Co-sponsored by Slow Food Huron Valley (of which I am a board member), Real Time Farms and Zingerman’s Roadhouse, the film “looks at our agriculture from the perspective of the farmers, and provides real, everyday solutions for how we can shape our food system,” says Meriwether.

Hola, seekers of all things culinarily magnificent! Today’s review is one that’s close to my heart, because it resides in what I consider to be my hometown, Ann Arbor, Michigan (the hospital I was born in is there, so that counts, right? 
).
For those who fancy themselves a hardcore foodie, the name Zingerman’s should already be on your short list when it comes to places to eat or order food from.
