Meet the Team

Roadie Spotlight

Meet the smiles that light up the Roadhouse!

Our Roadhouse crew is known for their above-and-beyond commitment to service. They’re so focused on making sure you have an excellent Zingerman’s experience that they’ve earned prestigious James Beard award nominations for Outstanding Hospitality two years in a row. If you’ve dined at the Roadhouse, you’ve met some of these sparkling folks. We’d like to give you the pleasure of getting to know the people that make our all-American spot so special.

Sharon Kramer

What do you do at the Roadhouse?

I’m a server, a lead server, and a take-out specialist. I am the Roadhouse LEAN expert, and a teacher. I teach the class Sell Food, Have Fun. I am curious to see how it’s going to go teaching it online, it’s a very interactive class.

What is your favorite thing on the Roadhouse menu?

Any of the mac and cheeses. How fast can you put it in my belly?

What is your favorite Roadshow beverage?

Caramel apple cider or a hot cocoa. The caramel apple cider literally tastes like grandma’s apple pie, but you don’t have to chew.

What is your favorite food from another Zingerman’s business?

That’s tough. Right now I’d have to say the pork buns from Miss Kim. The buns are like air pillows for your gums and teeth.

If you had to choose, fried chicken or BBQ?

Can I have fried chicken with a side of BBQ? It’s tough, but if I had to choose I’d go fried chicken.

Do you have any nicknames?

Sharona, Share-Bear, Shurn (it’s on the team sheet sometimes).

Favorite music?

Pretty much anything eighties. I can name that tune in three notes or less. You know the Alexa game? I have an unnatural amount of points.

Where did you grow up?

Royal Oak. I met my husband, who lived in Ypsi, and ended up here. He’s a twin, I met him through my sister-in-law, who is my best friend. So yes, my best friend and I married twins.

What are some of your favorite things?

I am obsessed with my dog, a King Charles.  I enjoy camping, and once my daughter graduates we are going to travel every weekend by camper. I am a cheerleader mom, so I am obsessed with everything cheerleading.

Tell us something we might not know about you.

I studied 3 and ½ years of American Sign Language in college. I have been using a bit of it since we’ve all been wearing masks, and forget that people don’t all know it.

What do you like about working at the Roadhouse?

I like that I can give great service , but that Zingerman’s cares about what I think and how I can make this place better.

Who are your dream dinner guests?

My regulars, especially those I haven’t seen in awhile. I get so excited if I know my regulars are coming to sit in my section when we are open.
